The Warrior Rises

"I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war.”

Have you ever been the underdog in a fight you knew you couldn't win?

Since Adam and Eve's fall in Eden, humanity has been engaged in a war against sin, Satan, and death—a battle we lose on our own. But God promised a warrior who would come to our rescue. This warrior first appeared as the meek Lamb of God, who died on a cross and rose from the grave.

But the story isn't finished. Jesus is coming back, and this time as the ultimate warrior-king.

In Revelation 19, John gives us a glimpse of this triumphant return: "I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war" (v.11).

This warrior doesn't need an army. He doesn't need weapons. The only weapon He wields is His word. The God who spoke the universe into existence will speak and end all opposition.

While the world's armies gather against Him, this warrior is "dressed in a robe dipped in blood" (v.13). Unlike his army, who remain clean, only the warrior bears blood—because only He does the fighting. And written on his robe is the name "KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS" (v.16).

Today, you can live knowing the warrior is coming. He's coming to bring peace–so be a peacemaker now. He's coming to rule, so surrender to Him today. He's coming to end evil, so stand against sin now.

The warrior is coming, but you don't have to wait to experience His reign. Surrender your heart to this King of Kings today, and let His divine rule transform your life now. When you bow your knee willingly today, you prepare to stand joyfully when He returns tomorrow.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, You are the King of all Kings! You are the Lord of Lords! You are the God of gods! And I praise You for fighting my battles. I surrender to your kingship today. Rule in my heart now and let Your kingdom come and Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
