“For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.” - 1 Corinthians 1:25
There is nothing more frustrating, irritating, and aggravating than being in a situation when you don’t know what to do. Have you ever been there? Stuck. Mind totally blank. Out of options. The light is green and everybody is blowing his horn but you don’t know which way to go. Many of us even now are in that place. If not, one day we will come to a place and it will be at a time when we don’t know what to do. Do I leave this job for another one or not? Do I stay in this relationship or not? Do I make this investment or not? There is nothing more difficult than to be in a situation where you either weigh all of your options and they all seem wrong or you weigh all of your options and they all seem right. It can feel very helpless and hopeless. It can even make you feel like you are all alone and have to figure it all out by yourself.
The good news is you are not alone. If you are facing one of the most difficult situations anyone could face and don’t know what to do or where to turn, you don’t have to go through it alone. It may seem that you have no options, but you don’t need options when you have God. He is always there at the end of your rope, so to speak, willing and able to lead you through the toughest of times.
It is so important that as Christians we grow in our ability to see past our circumstances. God is bigger than anything we face. And when we don’t know what to do, God always does. This is why the Apostle Paul wrote in Romans 11:33-34, “Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable His judgments, and His paths beyond tracing out! Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been His counselor?” What advice or idea could be more helpful in confusing times than God’s? Who knows more than He does? And yet so often we look everywhere but to Him for help when we don’t know what to do.
The next time you don’t know what to do, remember that God always does. Seek Him for the answers you need. He may not always lead you down the easiest path, but it will always be the best path.
Father, help me to trust You when I don’t know which way to turn. Thank You for always leading me in the way I should go. In Jesus’ name, amen.
